Preschool

There are 3 main ministries for our preschoolers:

Discovery Class – At 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, preschoolers have their own Discovery class where they get acquainted with stories from the Bible.

Sunday Morning Nursery – At 10:30 a.m. during the worship service, there is nursery care for 1) infants and toddlers, as well as for 2) preschoolers. The preschoolers learn a Bible lesson through stories and crafts.

Wednesday Night – During the fall and spring, we have Wednesday Night from 6:00-8:00. After having dinner together, we split off into our Wednesday Night small groups. Care for preschoolers is provided.

Elementary

Here’s what we have for our elementary kids:

Discovery Class – At 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, kids in Elementary Discovery learn the basics about the Bible. They’ll learn not only the stories, but also the important lists (Books of the Bible, 12 Apostles, fruit of the Spirit, etc.). The class lays a crucial foundation for our kids.

Wednesday Night – During the fall and spring, we have Wednesday Night from 6:00-8:00. After having dinner together, we split off into our Wednesday Night small groups. In their small group, elementary kids learn about the Bible, play games together, and have a ton of fun!

Summer Camp – We encourage our kids to take a week in the summer to go to Hidden Haven Christian Camp. There is nothing better for kids’ faith than unplugging from all the distractions, getting away, and getting into the Word. They have a blast, but most importantly, they come back home with a stronger faith. See http://www.hiddenhaven.org/

Middle School

Here’s what we’ve got for our middle schoolers:

Discovery Class – At 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, we have a Discovery class for middle school / high school. Students face tough choices. Are they going to just know what the Bible says, or are they also going to live it out? Do they know not only what they believe, but also why they believe it? When times get tough, will they keep following Jesus? These are some crucial years to be in Discovery class, as students learn apologetics (why Christianity is true) and ethics (what the Bible says about our lifestyle choices).

Wednesday Night – During the fall and spring, we have Wednesday Night from 6:00-8:00. After having dinner together, we split off into our Wednesday Night small groups. We’ve got to be honest; this is probably the craziest small group. It’s also probably the loudest one. But, to be honest, it might also be the most fun. They talk about Christianity: What is it? Why believe it? How does it relate to my life? Kids are able to ask questions they’ve always wondered about God, the Bible, and life. Then (since middle schoolers can only sit still for so long), they’ll play a game of capture the flag or charades or something else. It’s a great time!

High School

Discovery Class – At 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, we have a Discovery class for middle school / high school. Students face tough choices. Are they going to just know what the Bible says, or are they also going to live it out? Do they know not only what they believe, but also why they believe it? When times get tough, will they keep following Jesus?  Wednesday Night – During the fall and spring, we have Wednesday Night from 6:00-8:00. After having dinner together, we split off into our Wednesday Night small groups. The high schoolers hang out and talk through how God’s Word intersects with their lives. This high school small group is the group that probably gets out the most: They’re often off doing a service project, or going to a concert, or having a lock-in at the church. It’s great to have a group of peers who help you along as you try to follow Christ in high school!

Men

Discovery Class

Men have their own Discovery class which meets at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings. They learn the Bible, encourage each other, pray for each other, and teach each other what they’ve learned through the years. It’s become one of Ambassador’s backbone programs.

We also have a combined adult Discovery class (men and women), and it is a great time for adults to get into some in-depth Bible study.

Small Groups

Wednesday Night – During the fall and spring, we have Wednesday Night from 6:00-8:00. After having dinner together, we split off into our Wednesday Night small groups. There are usually 2 adult small groups to choose from. One of those small groups is usually about some family issue (e.g. marriage, parenting).

And if you can’t make Wednesday Night, we typically have other adult small groups going on through the fall and spring, so you’ll probably be able to find one that works for your schedule. Call (620) 431-7751 for a current list.

Women

Discovery Class

Women have their own Discovery class which meets at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings. This class is an encouraging reminder that you are not alone! It is a wonderful time to connect and learn more about God’s Word. This is a Bible study with lots of interaction. Come and be encouraged!

Serve

Small Group Service Projects

We have a box at Church for people to put requests in for service projects. Typically, when we get a request, we connect the need with a particular small group. Our small groups have raked leaves, cleaned out gutters, helped people move, done painting projects. Each time we serve somebody, it reminds us that it really is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).

Care Ministry

Some people are going through a crazy time and could sure use some encouragement. One major way to encourage somebody is through meals. We have an amazing staff of volunteers who take meals to people in the Church following surgeries, deaths in the families, etc.

Volunteer Opportunities

We would be nowhere without our volunteers! Without our volunteers, we would have no nursery, no band, no classes, no small groups, no tech team, no grounds upkeep, no greeters, no Wednesday Night meals, no lock-ins. I could go on, but you get the picture. First of all, we want to thank all the amazing volunteers who allow God to use them in these ways! Second, there are always plenty of opportunities open to people wanting to serve, and we’d love to find you a spot on a team!

Missions

We currently financially support around a dozen ministries outside of Ambassador. It is an honor to be able to partner with, for example, missionaries in Africa and Germany, international disaster relief, prison ministry, and campus ministry. We at Ambassador don’t want to let ourselves become too inwardly focused; after all, the point was always to “Go and make disciples” (Matt. 28:18-20)! God is doing His work around the world, and we want to join in.
