How We Started . . .

Ambassador began as a home Bible study in December of 1998 and held its first service in a rented facility on September 12, 1999. In 2002, Ambassador purchased a 16,000 square foot former warehouse located on eight beautiful acres in the Chanute Safari Industrial Park. God, through many dedicated volunteers and contributors, has transformed a former warehouse into a house of worship. The church was planted by David McCoy who still serves as senior minister. Ambassador’s first associate minister Corey Scott served for three and a half years followed by David’s middle son Luke McCoy who served as associate minister for two years. Daniel McCoy, David’s youngest of three sons, began serving as associate minister in 2005. Our name originates from II Corinthians 5:20 which says: “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” Ambassador is a descendant of the Restoration Movement and is also known as an Independent Christian Church. One of our slogans is “We are not the only Christians, but we are Christians only.”

Ambassador Christian Church is a non-denominational Bible-believing church dedicated to encouraging and strengthening believers in Jesus Christ and reaching unbelievers for Him.
